1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile app Egalia, published by DD DIGITAL, handles user data. Egalia is an app dedicated to sharing the mental load within a couple: tracking household tasks, history, statistics, and a shared grocery list.
2. Information Collection and Use
2.1. Use without an account (local mode)
The app is fully usable without creating an account. In this mode, all your data (completed tasks, history, grocery list, custom categories) is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
2.2. Use with an account (couple mode)
If you choose to create an account to link your profile with your partner’s, we collect:
- Email address and password, for authentication (via Firebase Authentication).
- The household tasks and grocery items you log, along with the related history, stored via Firebase Firestore so they can be synced in real time with your partner’s account.
- A push notification token (Expo Push Token), only if you enable notifications, used to notify you when your partner adds a task or a grocery item.
None of this data is used for commercial or advertising purposes, nor is it sold to third parties.
2.3. Usage Data (Analytics)
We use Firebase Analytics to measure general app usage (for example, which task categories are used the most). These statistics are anonymized:
- No personal data (name, email, user ID, or the free-text label of a task or grocery item) is transmitted.
- Only category identifiers, difficulty level, and the language selected in the app are collected.
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party for commercial or advertising purposes. Your data is only shared with:
- Your partner, if you join a couple (only the data related to tasks, groceries, and history).
- Our technical subprocessors, required for the app to function (see section 5).
4. Data Security
Your data is hosted on Google Firebase’s secure infrastructure (authentication, Firestore database, storage). Access to your data is protected by security rules ensuring that only you and your partner, once linked, can access it.
5. Third-Party Services
The app relies on the following services, provided by Google (Firebase):
- Firebase Authentication (account management)
- Firebase Firestore (storage of couple data)
- Firebase Storage (file storage, where applicable)
- Firebase Cloud Functions (sending push notifications, only if enabled)
- Firebase Analytics (anonymized usage statistics)
We do not use any third-party advertising network. The app does not contain any advertisements.
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, delete, and port your data. You can delete your account and all associated data directly from the app’s settings, or by contacting us at the address below.
